Research on rapid design of ship hull conceptual scheme based on intelligent fuzzy inference systems

  • Objective Aiming at the problem that it is difficult to model user requirements with fuzzy characteristics in the existing ship conceptual scheme design (SCSD), a rapid SCSD system based on the fuzzy inference system is studied to quickly obtain the ship performance values that meet user requirements and generate the corresponding values of ship hull design parameters.
    Methods Firstly, the data of existing ship hull parameters are collected and sorted as prior knowledge for hyper - parameter initialization in the process of user requirement modeling. Secondly, based on the fuzzy set theory, user requirements are quantitatively mapped to the fuzzy space, and the sorted prior knowledge is used to infer the ship performance values that meet user requirements in an interpretable way. Finally, the best ship hull design parameters are matched for each ship performance value that meets user requirements, and through the "AND" principle in the fuzzy set theory, the ship design parameters that meet all the user's requirements for ship performance are further inferred and taken as the SCSD.
    Results The experimental results show that the intelligent fuzzy inference system can quickly infer multiple SCSD with deviations within 3.5% according to the fuzzy user requirements within 30 seconds.
    Conclusion The intelligent fuzzy system quantifies the fuzziness in user requirements. After two stages of inference, the SCSD that meets the various requirements of users is efficiently generated. The research results can provide a useful reference for the intelligent and rapid generation of SCSD.
